We all have them so where did mines go?
I hope, I wish, I wonder, I imagine.
I start, I stop, I fear, I differed.
Listen I'm trying to understand what happened.
I stopped and differed seem to stick out
Maybe I just didn't believe in myself.
I Stopped. I Stopped.
I didn't see them through.
Fear got the best of me. Maybe that's the truth.
Someone else realized them now, took them right out of my head.
I didn't follow my dreams, now those dreams are dead.

Now that you are talking, walking, running, jumping and your personality is shaping you’ve made me realize some areas in myself that I need to work on. You’re teaching me more about life than I’ve obviously taught myself. Son, I thank you. One day when your old enough to read this letter and I hope you will not understand, because I would have made the transformation into the woman I hope to be. A woman you can look up to, be proud of, learn from, respect, trust and admire.
I don’t want to fail you son, by being too nice, by letting you get away with things the world won’t allow, by tolerating your misbehavior, because as a black man in this world the odds are against you. So it is my responsibility to buckle down, stand firm, and raise a son who will be able to withstand all of life’s harsh realities, who will understand the true value of hard work, who will embrace education, and who will garner respect and will treat people with respect and the consideration that they deserve.
I can buy you many presents on this day but my ultimate gift to you is to vow to be the mom that you need me to be, so that you can become a great man. Happy 3rd Birthday Son, I love you with all my heart.

I’m so happy that the holidays are over and the new year is here. This year I'm going to pace my self and not get overwhelmed by trying to post the latest greatest and newest content everyday. I will still deliver good post I'm just not going to drive myself crazy with all of these self made deadlines. I love writing because that's what I do, I love business, fashion, music and movies to; sometimes its hard trying to keep it all together with my other life, but in the end it all works out.
Thank you for sticking with me checking back and stay tuned for great writing and great updates. I would like to hear more from you this year, let me know if my stories or post matter, ring a bell, entertain, or delight you? Leave comments let me know your thoughts; it makes blogging a little more fun when I get a reaction or feedback. Happy New Year !!!!!

Tammie who's a talk show host and fellow blogger talkingwithtami.com/blog tagged me on yesterday with the Honest Scrap Award. At first I was like what is this about, but after reading her post I was totally inspired and thankful that she chose me to keep things moving along with the tagging tradition for other brilliant bloggers.
So here are the Instructions after being tagged.
1) Say thanks and give a link to the presenter of the award.
2) Share “ten honest things” about myself.
3) Present this award to 7 others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me.
4) Tell those 7 people that they’ve been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving it.
So here it goes, 10 Honest Things about me:
1. I am a shopaholic, there I said and yes I need help but after Christmas :-)
2. I love writing especially blogging and I have withdrawals when I don’t get a chance to.
3. I have a 2 yr old son, and would love to have another child within next 2 years.
4. The JayZ Blueprint 3 CD has been in my car CD player since I got it October 3rd on repeat.
5. I cry sometimes because I miss my mom. (she's in Atlanta) *don’t judge me*
6. I often check my twitter, Gmail and Facebook before I get out of bed in the morning.
7. I play bejeweled on my phone almost every night before I go to sleep.
8. I'm addicted to Cocoa Pebbles cereal.
9. My ultimate dream would to be great like Maya Angelou (writer, poet, published author)
10. I've never been a collector of anything other than shoes clothes and purses.

Yesterday was my birthday and I am so glad to have made another year. I never imagined turning 28; I think I stopped counting after 25 because the time was flying by so fast. Over the past year I’ve done a lot of growing, I’ve had a lot of time to reflect, a lot of time to rest and I’m so better prepared for the start of this new year. This week has also been one of the busiest weeks of the year for me; I started working at my part time job last Sunday, which I will be only working at on weekends. I also started a fulltime position last Monday, although it is temporary, I’m so happy to be getting out the house everyday again.
I have not created my “list” of things to accomplish by 30 but a few things have come to mind. Let’s just say these next two years will be eventful, so you will want to stick around. Thank everyone for my birthday wishes, my entire weekend was great. Although I worked on my birthday, I came home to a delicious home cooked meal, my honey baked me a cake, the house was clean, Gavin was bathed; All I had to do was kick back.
If only everyday could be this simple, now it’s back to reality, Monday all over again, I’ll be off to work in a few hours to do it all over again. This has been a positive start to a new year to say the least I’m happy to have you here with me.

Mall of Louisiana Boulevard one of my favorite places
Alot like Newark, Baton Rouge has its good established neighborhoods, and the “not so good” areas where you might not want to be caught out after dark in. They even have corner stores and people hanging around “up to no good” of course a lot like my hometown. But you will definitely only see that in select neighborhoods.
There is also tons of rejuvenation citywide, a lot like what Newark is doing. Newark used to be very industrial and that was mainly what Baton Rouge has been built on; plants, refineries. Since Hurricane Katrina, the economic climate has dramatically changed and it boast a lot more different types of businesses than it used to.
Like San Antonio, Baton Rouge is a very sports oriented and family oriented town. This is definitely Tiger town, LSU runs this town. In San Antonio they were a lot of Spurs and high school football fanatics. I understood the excitement of professional sports but I’ve never seen a whole entire city rally behind a football team quite like Baton Rouge.
Southern University is another popular school that many people support. I had the privilege of attending the homecoming game a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you we had to park like 7-10 miles away from the stadium, cars filled the streets like "freaknic 98", and people were tailgating having a good time. I really enjoyed myself, college football is not so bad afterall. Earlier that day I took Gavin to his first homecoming parade, he had the best time.
There next big sporting event coming up is the Bayou Classic that will be played in the New Orleans superdome Thanksgiving weekend; it’s a annual tradition game they play against Grambling University. I will be attending this event so I will let you know how it goes. Hopefully I will have a new camera by then so I can take some pictures.
So moving here from Atlanta, a place where I lived for the past 9 years, a city that I’ve seen grow and change so much so fast will be missed; but I think we made the right move. From my first visit to Baton Rouge back in 2006 there has been a quick population boost and influx of businesses, retail and tourist attractions to accommodate the residents and visitors. It’s a vibrant city with a thriving film and production scene, shopping and dining scene. They recently opened a 23 acre production studio and lot this summer to accomodate all of the movies that are being filmed here now.
I have yet to check out the music and entrepreneur circuit, but I am looking forward to see what it’s all about. Shopping, ok, all I’m going to say is they have a 2story Forever 21 store, and I got a brand new Rooms To Go 5x8 area rug from a thrift store for 64.95. That’s all for now, I’ll update you guys more real soon.

Today marks 4 years since me & my honey have been together (not counting the break ups... tee hee) This is the day we officially became an item, it is also my late Grandmothers birthday, so it's a very special day for me.
Thank you honey for loving me and accepting me for who I am; flaws and all. Thank you for supporting my business and personal goals and dreams. Thank you for giving me guidance when I needed it, thank you for listening to my rants and most importantly thank you for being my friend. You are a terrific father to our son, a great provider, protector and leader in our home. We will always have ups and down but it's nice to have you to go through the motions with. Happy Anniversary!!!!! Wishing us many more.
RIP Quentzeline Norris, you are trully missed.

When Diddy coined the phrase “ No B**cha**ness” I used to laugh & think to my self “what a phrase;” but now I truly know the meaning. Yesterday I made a constructive "harmless" comment on a social networking site about an avatar directly to the avatar owner only to receive indirect twitter responses that grew rather disrespectful as time went on. Very unnecessary, might I add.
I’m not a negative person; I am opinionated but not negative. So like a woman I addressed this person in a private email to express my concern with the tactless comments they made and went on with my day.
This incident reminded me of a converstaion I had with some one not to long ago. They said you have to be careful about the people we allow in our lives, people who speak into our lives down to the music we listen to & TV programs we look at; furthermore the people we converse with or “follow” on social networking sites.
I’m glad I keep good company in real life, but now I will be more cautious of the company I keep & tweet on social networking sites. No one is worth compromising my character for, I’ll be 28 in a few days and its certain things that come with age, and grace is one of them. Now I know what your thinking... that picture is not gracefulful; it's not but it sums up my exact thoughts. I'm still 27 Don't judge me :-) Enjoy your day.

I have a very active 2 year old son, and those of you who have met him know exactly the level of energy he has. I will admit I yell at him at times, and I notice he yells at me or at his imaginary friends while playing. I get embarrassed when he does that because I realize he is only mimicking me.
I've tried getting at eye level and talking to him calmly, I've tried time outs, I've tried spankings and he still does not behave the way I think he should. He gives his dad a little less problem, but nerveless he still has issues with him to when it comes to listening. I refer to him as a selective listener, because he listens when he want to.
It's so hard not to get frustrated at a child that you know is smart and understands exactly what you say, but chooses to do what he want to do. The Bible says "Spare the rod, spoil the child" and “Train him up the way he should be taught" but society says otherwise, so what is a parent to do? I recently came across this video on CNN, and posted it because I want to know what other parents think about discipline methods especially what is appropriate for a 2 ½ yr old.

I am like a crime mystery yet to be solved, the best detective in the world got a job on his hand with me.
I am like a 7 year old little girl on a toy shopping spree.
I am often like the sun rising and going down; I am like a shadow, sometimes showing and other times can’t be found.
I am like a fluffy dog, mans best friend and a guard dog at night; I am like a tunnel, only one way in or out and full of bright lights.
I am like a young school girl awaiting a crushes phone call; I am like a fatherless child with no one to teach me how to catch a my ball.
I am like a lost one on some days and confused on others; I am found on most days and insightful to others.
I am like a happy soul creeping through the night; I am like a strong wind, I uplift the kites.
The kites bring smiles to those below and beauty to the blue skies
I am like so many things so many times, I am like whatever words or images come to my mind.
